Have you ever looked around and wondered who grew the food on your plate, or stitched together the clothing you wear? Have you ever stopped to think where all those dollar store items come from and who’s making them? How about all those missing children, or missing indigenous women? What really happened to them? Heavy, I know. Definitely not the topics photography websites are made of, yet definitely questions we should all ponder, if we’re human, if we care and if we want to make the world a better place.
On one hand I am determined to capture beautiful and meaningful images so that you can remember the good times. I want to make your life better by reminding you of the joyful, the blissful, and perhaps somewhat chaotic times that define what makes life so stellar. On the other hand I want to do what I can where I can to make life better, richer for as many people behind the scenes as possible. I want to choose quality products, ethically sourced so that I am not greedily taking advantage of those less fortunate. I don’t want to turn my back on problems I can help fix. In other words I do not want to look the other way. I can’t fix all the problems but I can help.
